Saw Taming of the Shrew at the Botanic Gardens on Saturday evening.

Parking was horrible, what with the Moonlight Cinema, Taming and a wedding at the Gardens, something on at the Myer Music Bowl, and performances at the new Recital Hall. Oh, and it was Valentine's day. We drove around Birdwood Av twice, and several times saw people in the process of parking in a place which had just been vacated. We ended up at the Arts Center carpark.

During the performance, I discovered that I am not suited for seating in a triclinium. I lay on my side most of the show, and the shoulder on that side is still stiff and sore.
One of the other punters had a T-shirt which I may have been the only other person in the place to be able to get: “Luke,” it read, “is mise d'áthair” (which is “Luke, I am your father”, but in Gaelic).

The performance itself was good, I thought. It is amazing how much the performers must add to the play, the ad-libs and other such things which simply can't be written down, or if they are, lose their power. “I am Petruchio, son of the late Antonio (groin thrust, WOOF!)” My point being, you had to be there. The guy who played Petruchio (who you may know as the guy in the Mitre 10 commercials) is a brilliant comic actor, in my estimation.

Gah. Have to get back to building the image upon which all machines in Engineering are to be based from now on (except for the ones which won't). Classes start in three weeks. No pressure.

Yes, but I've been informed that they don't need computer labs for the first week.

Please join me in praying that this is correct... I have this feeling that the extra week may be necessary.

Oh, fuck.

Ok, that makes sense I suppose.

I will tell my 340/440 students not expect anything till week 2... the 440s usually start on the Thursday of week 1.
