I've been hanging out to see Дневной дозор for quite some time, now.
I've been really looking forward to it. Especially to seeing it on the big screen, with the subtitle magic. I was hoping to arrange an evening with
usuakari and
tooticky, and go out and enjoy it.
I had managed to get a copy of Night Watch on DVD, and had to jump through hoops, and be in the right place at the right time, but it wasn't the version with the subtitles done properly. So I was relying on the cinema release to give me the full Englishified experience for the sequel.
So, it was released in Australia on October 18. That's three and a half weeks ago.
That was long enough for it to have vanished completely, as if it had never been, from Australian cinemas.
I missed it.
MOTHERFUCKER!
I'm going to go punch some walls now. I am not happy. Not at all.

Yes, I could have gotten it from amazon, but I don't buy from there much at the best of times. I am after all, on the other side of the planet and stuff either takes forever to arrive, is exorbitant to ship or both. I also had no indication that the version I had bought was not the one with the subtitles, nor was there any indication on the Amazon page, and I wasn't going to go through all that for a second copy missing what I had bought the damn things for.
Maybe I'll do the Amazon thing later in the year, but that won't help me see Day Watch on the big screen.
I'm angry at myself for being complacent. And I'm displacing that onto the feltching bastards who decided that a movie in Russian wasn't worth advertising.
Maybe I'll catch it at the Astor...
Hang on... *click* *click* *clickety* December 7 7:30.

Oh, and "Dusk Watch" is the 3rd in the trilogy, or so I've been reading.
