I don't take nicely to being told to spy on my friends.
There is only one response to such tripe as this.

Look, all I would say in response is this.
The terrorism threat now is MUCH bigger than the alleged Red Menace then, though even that was not quite infinitesimal.
One thing we do know is.....
if scumbag terrorists really want to kill us, we aren't gonna be able to stop them in the first instance.
So why haven't they?????
Two reasons.
1. Our spooks are occasionally embarrassing, but they do have their moments.
2. 90+% of our Muslims REALLY like living here. Because, hey guess what, Mr Pillock? Why do you think they came here???
And because of point 2, these scumbags get shopped by the good guys and the plot gets nipped in the bud.
So do we REALLY need draconian laws which take away our British freedoms???
Um, no, actually. Could this be in fact counterproductive?
What do YOU think, Mr Alleged Attorney-General?????

And you are of course invited.
the next Phryne is a short story collection for Yule...
and my 1st novel Eaglehawk comes out on Saturday week.
E-flyer will be constructed and mailed tomorrow... I'm a bit too brain-dead today.

I've printed this one out and have it on my cube wall at work. We'll see how long it takes for someone to complain...
(I'm not in a real high-traffic area; I may need to put another copy up in a more prominent place.)
