You know, it seems that the AWB idiots are not happy with having been hung out to dry.

Not happy at all.

I dunno, in the situation, "we're taking you bastards with us" seems an entirely fair proposition, especially since Howard set the Commission up on the explicit command that Ministers are Out Of Bounds, and then crows because, mysteriously, the Commission made no findings of guilt on any Minister.

Funny, that.

Oh, but *I* am happy.

It shall be interesting to see. Let's hope the government don't get cold feet over the prosecution now that they've realised they won't come out of it unscathed if they go ahead.

My, that could be interesting. A trained QC attacking Downer in a witness stand would be far more entertaining than watching the Beazley Revenant flatulating at him across the House of Reps.

I can't help but wonder - was that a deliberate B5 reference, or just coincidence? Because now I have visions of the Howard government calling off the Cole inquiry because they realised that Liberal souls were being reborn in AWB executive bodies ...

It was probably funnier in my head than typed out.

But yes - it would be rather amusing to see the chickens come home to roost in such a manner ...
