WHAT THE FUCKING CHRIST ON A POGOSTICK GIVES THAT WARMED UP WALKING CORPSE THE POWER TO OVERRIDE A COURT'S FULL AQUITTAL?

Oh, wait, it was the Government who gave Lich-boy that power. And who gave Johhny's government that power? It was the complicity of every poor fucking bastard who thought that Johnny actually had the power or the will to do a quarter of the shit he promised (like, say, keep interest rates down), and voted for him.
This blatant attack on the power of a Court of Law to determine whether or not someone deserves to be punished is, of course, not entirely unexpected. But make no mistake. What Ruddock has just done is to declare that the Government has the final arbitration on a person's guilt -- that this arbitration is, will be, must be based onrumour and anonymous slander and outright lies secret information sources -- and that there can be no appeal to this arbitration.

Mark this day: the Star Chamber is out in the open, and doesn't care who knows. The Star Chamber is now officially running the country.
