Newsflash: Anne Coulter is an idiot.

According to Anne Coulter, Jews are Christians.

"Throughout this book, I often refer to Christians and Christianity because I am a Christian and I have a fairly good idea of what they believe, but the term is intended to include anyone who subscribes to the Bible of the God of Abraham, including Jews and others." [emphasis added]

It's not all good news, though. Episcopalians simply aren't Christian enough to count.

"Howard Dean left the Episcopal Church -- which is barely even a church -- because his church, in Montpelier, Vermont, would not cede land for a bike path." [emphasis added]

Of course, the really funny bit is that under her definiton, Muslims are Christians too!

Or maybe Muslims are actually Episcopalians and don't count... it's all so confusing.


Unless, you understand, she's just full of shit. That's just a theory.

Actually, I don't think she is an idiot. (I'm not even entirely convinced that she staryed out life as a she.)

Certainly someone who makes Andrew Bolt look like a rational thinker and an able polemicist by comparison, then again, she makes Peter "the Serial Pest" Hore look the same. Indeed, I think it's quite possible that she's clinically insane, but she's promoting her latest piece of illiterature and look at the publicity she's got out of this. Every right-wing ratbag who was getting really annoyed by the fact that all the people with credibility are liberals has a new defence: "You can't express your opinion because you have valid reasons for holding it, so it's not a fair debate."

In the Looking-Glass world of right-wing punditry, this argument actually makes sense apparently.
