Well, my plans to get into the car this morning, drive to work, work all day, then get back in the car and drive home this evening were screwed when I walked out the front door at 9:00 this morning to discover that at some time during the night some fucker had smashed the rear passenger window and opened the front door, presumably to steal all the non-existant goodies which my car is filled with.

Mim and I heard nothing. (Which probably just means it was while we were sleeping the sleep of the exhausted.)

The workmen who arrived at seven saw nothing, so it must have been before then.

The police came (when they were good and ready, and not one moment sooner (Yes, they probably have more important things to deal with, but I was left sitting for a couple of hours while they got around to me)), but did little more than write down who, what, where and when.

The RACV was of even less help. The repair (a new window) was much less than my excess, so I'm not even sure why I bothered.

Father-in-law has sourced a replacement window, and has arranged for a garage around the corner to replace it tomorrow morning (for much less than the $135 O'Brien's quoted), so I won't be off the road long. Cleaning up the glass in the back seat was, and will be, a complete prick of a job, though.

I have no idea why they picked my car. The windows are clear, so they could richnesses of nothing they were accessing. It's a 20-year-old car, surrounded by newer ones (Mim's car was parked in the next spot, and wasn't touched, nor was anyone else's car up and down the street).

All they did was ruin my day, and part of tomorrow. They didn't get anything, and from the looks of it, they won't get caught for it either. Motherfuckers.

Gah. Poor catsidhe. I'm really sorry to hear it. I hope you've got spend at least some of the day unwinding a bit with your family- maybe treat yourselves to something nice, I tend to find that works when something dazzlingly crap has happened to me.

GGGRRRRR! LJ just ate my comment....

Shitheads! I know how you feel, although at least I got my car back in one piece. Unfortunately, you can't say the same for the window.

Ultimately, I'm glad that you keep such richnesses of nothing in your car. Reminds me that I should go and remove the few CDs that I have in Tooticky's car, just in case.
