"You can't be against the invasion Liberation of Iraq! No-one can claim that the Iraqis were better off under Saddam! Well, he's gone, so the Iraqis are free and happy!"

Thing is, though, someone forgot to tell the Iraqis this.

Meanwhile, Some people really can learn from history.

It's official: Muslims are the new Jews. How long until Muslims are required to wear yellow crescents on their clothes? ... for 'security' reasons, of course. Any suggestion otherwise is completely outrageous, and must not be allowed to be propogated.

Are you now, or have you ever been a Muslim? Have you ever associated with Muslims? I put it to you that you have visited the house of a person who owns a copy of The Qur'an, what do you have to say to that? (Only these questioning sessions won't be televised.)

ummmmm
i've certainly taught many more Muslims than i have Jews.
but then, most of these children were more than willing to explain to me their observances because i asked politely. and also because it was a multi-cultural/multi-faith school.

I wasn't talking about observances so much as the similarities in how they are and were treated. Muslims now have to protect their Mosques in the same way the Jews have to guard their Schuls. Muslims are being demonised in a similar way to the way Jews have been since Masada. Or Communists in the 1950s. Or Gypsies. Or Gnostics. Or Templars. Or, or, or...

It has become not only a mark of suspicion to be Muslim, but to associate with them, especially if you listen to too much talk-back radio, it seems.

With a knowledge of history, the rest follows unless we are very careful. Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose.
