Why isn't this a bigger story?

US anti-war protester Cindy Sheehan arrested

Cindy Sheehan, whose vigil outside President George W Bush's Texas ranch focused attention on the anti-Iraq war movement, has been arrested at a sit-in at the White House.

Ms Sheehan, whose son Casey was killed in combat in Iraq, was among some 200 protesters who sat in circles on the pavement along the White House compound's northern edge.

She was arrested after refusing to obey police orders to leave.

The protesters wore placards bearing the names of US soldiers killed since the US-led invasion of Iraq began in March 2003.

Why doesn't this surprise me...

Although, it's quite possible the cops didn't have a clue who she was, nor would it have really made a difference if they had. The more interesting question is (of course) who decided, and why it was decided, that the protestors should be moved along.

Her face was all over the news for the previous month. She was the first one arrested (of about 350). She was not arrested by Mr Plod, but by SWAT.

They knew exactly who she is.

The charge was 'Protesting Without A Permit'.

So, are you suggesting she was specifically targetted by a SWAT team on their own? Frankly, I doubt it, and the more interesting question still remains. It's just even more interesting if those that gave the orders knew exactly who she was.
