Amusement of the day

Watching one's workmates hold an electromagnetism meter up to their LCD monitors to see what their EM radiation exposure is, then watching the look on their faces when I point out that each of us has two electromagnets strapped to our heads for most of the day.

Whilst not entirely up on this wasn't it ELF and VLF that was the problem?

This reminds me of a friend of mine. He called up the OH&S people to report that his boss was forcing him to be exposed to radiation. They got all excited, and started asking all these questions ... right up until he admitted that it was his mobile phone. (Sound from the phone at that point was remarkably similar to "Clunk!")

Another friend - back when LCDs were just starting to make an appearance - was pondering how to replace his CRT with a shiny new LCD. I suggested pulling out the OH&S card: radiation. I don't think he managed to pull it off, alas.

Let me guess, they're scared of their power meter too? The good old Herald Shun.
