Got a call from [livejournal.com profile] mimdancer at about bang on 17:30, that the power had gone off.

Again. At almost exactly the same time as it did yesterday.

Seriously not fucking impressed. And while I may be at work still, which is how I can tell you these things, it is about 32˚ in here, aircon notwithstanding.

Someone please tell me who is responsible for this, so that I can hunt them down and punch them in the face until my fist comes out the back of their head.

Actually, I blame the former Liberal Premier Jeff Kennett.

He privatised all the utilities and now their raison d'etre is profit but not service.

The national "regulator" has to bare some blame too: they insist on "Load shedding" (turning off customers) so they can continue selling power across to NSW, where the tariff is higher.

David B tells me the aircon in ICT broke, he plans to work in our office tomorrow, maybe you should as well.

It was the FRENCH!

I blame the French.

Apparantly our rainfall is more affected by currents in the Indian Ocean, contrary to what was previously believed.

Now some years ago the French let off NUKES under the ocean out that way. My theory is that this has disturbed the natural balance of things.
