Thomas is looking after his sick daughter, and John has had his wife go into labour earlier than expected, so it is quiet today.

I have had time to think about what Thomas might have been doing yesterday, and I think it may be related to the whole 'apprenticeship' thing. I suspect (but no more than that) that he was giving me a taste of the demands placed on him, to see how I coped. Well, I did all that he told me to, and didn't swear or yell at him (although I was pretty damn frosty), so maybe I passed.

That there might have been a good (yeah, whatever) reason for it does not mean I had to enjoy it, though.

Now that I have calmed down, and have a little time to spare, I should let those know who are interested that Abbi is walking. I have only seen it once, last Sunday when she did it for the first time. We have just had our kitchen replaced, and there was a box sitting around with pens and stuff in it. Abbi spent much of the day having a wonderful time taking those pens out and distributing them around the kitchen floor. Later that evening, she decided she wanted more of this activity. To that end, she stood, supporting herself on Mim's chair, and edging around to the nearest point to the kitchen. Then she let go and started to toddle off all the way into the kitchen before she realised what she was doing. Now that she knows she can do it, Mim reports that she hasn't stopped. Apparantly Mother-out-Law describes her as 'rolling like a drunk sailor'. So there is good stuff in the world as well.

With those kind of circumstances occurring it might be quiet for a good couple of months. Or they might both decide that they need to unload more work onto you... Hope it's the former.

Who's the doting father? You and [livejournal.com profile] mugung are scary sometimes. You convince me that I don't want kids of my own, in case I wind up as a puddle of goo just like the two of you. ;)

Congratulations to Abbi. Her terror is now unfettered yet further. :)

Congratulations on the walking loin fruit!
Actually- when I put it like that, Abbi becomes a very scary critter indeed. I'm glad you look like you'll be getting some respite from your co-workers. Take it easy.
