On balance, definitely worth it.
Dec. 6th, 2010 10:02 amWent to a family wedding on Saturday, in Toolamba. It was very pleasant, on the banks of the Goulburn river and a beautiful 100 year old house. Every so often a cool breeze would drift down the river and cool the air under the gum trees.
The down side was a 411km round-trip drive, taking over five hours total. M's car was out of action, so I did all the driving.
We got home after 11:00 at night, and were woken before 3:00 am by Miss A having thrown up in bed. We think she was dehydrated. Certainly she was dancing and happy the next morning. But still, even with that, I'm glad we were home to deal with that, and could go and collapse in our own beds and not have to sort it out in a stranger's house.
The next morning I woke with a headache. And backache. And neckache. And just generally feeling both like crawling back into bed, and knowing that I wouldn't be able to sleep if I did. That lasted all of Sunday, sudafed spray and Mercindol notwithstanding. Mum was in town, meeting with Kat, but I simply wasn't up to driving to Mitcham. Sorry, Mum.
Even now I feel like my brain has been removed from my head, disassembled, ironed flat, and reassembled backwards, along with every muscle in my shoulders and neck.
Gah. But it was worth it for the wedding.
