I went to a physiotherapist last week. She said that I had an impressively stiff back along its entire length, and that my lumbar curve was (is) non-existent, causing stress on the thoracic and cervical regions, explaining both my back pain and headaches over the last few years. She felt around in my back muscles with her thumb up to the second knuckle for a while while I used a large amount of bio-feedback to avoid spasming at the pain and undoing her work. I booked an appointment for last night, 18:15.

I left work at 17:30 for the 14km drive to my appointment in Elsternwick.

The physio's secretary called at 18:30, asking if I had forgotten the appointment. "No," I forced through gritted teeth, 'I haven't forgotten," and looked at the traffic around me in South Melbourne. I made a new appointment for 18:45 on Friday.

I arrived home at 18:45, unpleased.

I am still unpleased. Mim asks me, often, why I don't leave work earlier. This is why: it makes too little a difference to my arrival time at home to be worth it. Why should I spend another hour in traffic, for the benefit of arriving home ten minutes after the girls go to bed, rather than half an hour after, but only half an hour on the road?

In the meantime, though, I am still in pain, which never goes away. And now I have to wait another three days before I can get more help for it. Fuck.

Here is a summary of the last day or so of Federal Politics:

Revelation: Ron Walker (AKA, the millionaire sonofabitch who is locking off Albert Park Lake as I write, so that the Victorian government can pump more millions into his fucking wankfest with cars known as the Big Pricks) told his mate RatBastard Johnny that he was looking into building a Nuclear Power Station or five. A couple of days later, Johnny started an inquiry with the predetermined outcome of Build Nuclear Power Stations, or Climate Change Will Kill Us All!! (Funny how Climate Change is suddenly and conveniently so important to the lying weasel.)

When Labor points out that this smells somewhat like RatBastard is rewriting national policy to suit his mates' financial interests, and the reply is (I paraphrase, but not by much):

Labor is merely attempting to raise a scare campaign on Nuclear Pow— look! BOAT PEOPLE!! Over There!!

Pay no attention to the lying prick behind the curtain. Ron Walker is looking out for your best interests when he wins is given the tender to build Nuclear Piles in your backyard. Yours, not Johnny's, not Ron Walker's. And don't let them get away with claiming that 1) they're just as likely to have one in Bennelong as anywhere else, or 2) Scare Campaign! SCARE CAMPAIGN!!

I've just read Margo Kingston's Not Happy John. It was written before the RatBastard won the last election. In between her exhortations for Mark Latham to do something, she made many predictions as to what the RatBastard would do if he were to win again. As far as I can tell, she was bang on the money for every single one. That is really fucking depressing.

If we don't call it an ID card, then it isn't an ID card. Nothing that is so, is so.

But what's another lie from John RatBastard Howard? He came out guns blazing when Hawke tried to pull this stunt. And that ID card which wasn't really an ID card wasn't nearly as egregious as this ID card which isn't really an ID card.

RatBastard and his gang of thugs and lackeys can say that the sky is green and that lead is nutritious. That won't make it so. He can say that this isn't an ID card, and a couple of lines in legislation will prevent it ever being so. That ain't so either.

I was going to make a comment about what sort of attempt of an argument he is making, and what contempt it shows he has for our intelligence, but then I realised that 1) he doesn't need to make an argument — he owns the parliament, and fuck all can stop him from doing it, and 2) not only is it violently obvious how much contempt he has for us, mere citizens consumers, that he has gotten away with it for so long — for so many years, over so many elections — shows that his contempt is deserved. As a nation we really have bent over and begged for it.
