Haze on the Hills
Sep. 19th, 2005 10:57 amI hope Little Oberon goes to a series, I really do.
I would give a dissertation on all the things which I like about it, but I have to work sometime.
If nothing else, though, it taps into the Magic of the Hills, which I have always felt. I grew up in hilly country. I spent happy times on a property which was basically a block of temperate rainforest in the hills off the Hume Highway. I have ancestors buried in Beechworth and Yackandandah cemeteries, and the first time I visited these places it was like coming home.
Little Oberon shows the magic I have always felt... Pan down by the river, Haze in the Hills, watching the clouds roll in, smelling the woodsmoke.
The pull is strong on me. I'll have to arrange an outing with the family soon. Maybe I can get Abbi to feel the Magic too.
