I just got an email asking for a quote on repairing a piece of equipment.
This equipment is a (fairly old) type of traffic speed radar, which is normally mounted in a car.
This is a piece of kit I haven't even seen since I ceased employment at Barker Technics. That was two jobs, and five years ago. I've passed a lot of water under the bridge since then.
I went looking for Barker Tech, to see if I could pass this on to them. Their email address bounces. Their phone number answers as 'Maytag' (who don't sell or fix radars), and there is no entry in the Yellow Pages. Methinks Barker Technics hath folded, requiescat in pace.
All I can do is reply to this poor guy and tell him that he probably has a blown Gunn diode, and he should see if the manufacturers can help him. That is, of course, if Kustom Signals still exists... <google> <google> well whaddayaknow! He might just have a hope!.
